Multilateral Coalitions session

The UCLG Africa Culture Commission was established in 2023, with the support of UCLG World, the UCLG Culture Committee, the European Union Commission and the association Culture et Développement. Its vision is to organize local cultural action to ensure inclusive and sustainable development, in line with UCLG Africa’s overarching vision of building development from the ground up. The Commission tasks include support for the establishment of cultural policies in pilot cities and the management of the ‘African Capital of Culture’ (ACC) program. Following its meeting held in Nouakchott in March 2026, this session is intended to enable the adoption of the three-year work plan, to present the ACC Program and the program of events for Brazzaville–Kinshasa (2nd African Capital of Culture) and to plan and further adopt a funding plan for the Commission.
