[Dialogue] Violence Prevention in Practice: Showcasing Global Innovation at the Subnational Level

Organised by Peace in Our Cities (PiOC), Open Society Foundations and Mercociudades.

This session showcases city-led interventions to prevent and reduce violence, reflecting the principles of the Local Social Covenant Letter on Violence and Conflict Prevention. Drawing on projects supported by Peace in Our Cities, Open Society Foundations and Mercociudades, featured interventions address sexual and gender-based violence, youth recruitment to organized crime, disappearances and youth vulnerability, and counternarratives to punitive approaches. Following the presentations, structured dialogue will foster cross-regional exchange and shared learning across geographical and violence-specific contexts.
