#Local4Action Dialogue

Convened by Stop Ecocide International.

This session examines the role of local and regional governments (LRGs) on the front line of severe environmental destruction. Dispelling the misconception that ecocide occurs only in remote locations, the panel situates LRGs as key actors in preventing, criminalizing and responding to catastrophic ecological harm. Through participatory thought exercises and structured dialogue, participants will gain a clear understanding of ecocide law, its implications for communities and the accountability frameworks that could strengthen local and regional response to environmental destruction.
