#Local4Action Dialogue

Convened by Metropolis, in collaboration with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, and the International Companion Animal Management Coalition (ICAM).

This session reframes how cities relate to their non-human residents. Drawing on experiences from Bangkok, Bogotá, Ramallah and Toronto, the panel explores humane cat and dog population management as an expression of inclusive urban citizenship — one that connects directly to public health, social equity and community trust. Bringing together city representatives and practitioners, the discussion underscores the role of local leadership in building shared cities where the needs of all inhabitants, human and non-human alike, are reflected in policy and governance.
