[Launch] District 11: Barcelona’s Cooperation with Palestinian Cities

Organised by Barcelona City Council and Cities of Palestine, in collaboration with the Barcelona Provincial Council – Diputació de Barcelona, Metropolis and Association of Palestinian Local Authorities – (APLA)

Districte 11, Cities of Palestine is Barcelona’s framework to organize and give continuity to the city’s cooperation with Palestine. The initiative is based on a simple but powerful idea: cities can cooperate by mobilizing the areas where they have the strongest experience, knowledge and practical capacity. Public space, local economic development, urban services, facilities, resilience, governance, culture, education or community infrastructure are fields where municipal expertise can generate concrete value. This session will focus on the ongoing work in the framework the programme and will serve as a working space to identify how technical knowledge, city-to-city cooperation and institutional partnerships can support concrete projects in Palestine.
