Multilateral coalitions session

Organised by: Cités Unies France (CUF), in collaboration with UCLG Crisis Group, City of Geneve, the Moroccan Association TARGA AIDE, City of Nancy and the AMPCC.

This roundtable focuses on rethinking international aid in response to major crises, natural disasters, and conflicts affecting cities. While local governments are increasingly recognised as key actors in crisis management and reconstruction, they remain insufficiently involved in aid mechanisms. Led by Cités Unies France and the City of Geneva within UCLG, the session advocates for direct support to local and regional governments to strengthen resilient, sustainable recovery. Examples from Morocco, Türkiye, Lebanon, and Palestine illustrate the impact of these approaches.
